Apologies for the lateness of this. Just a brief summary of events. City started the brighter and took the lead on thirteenth minute from a twenty five yard strike from Ishmael Miller. The ball took an age to cross the line as Nico Vaesen got a good hand to the shot, but as he was so far of his line the ball was able to loop into the top corner of the net. City nearly doubled their lead when good work by Miller down the left crossed in and Bradley Wright-Phillips fed Karl Bermingham, whose first time shot was well saved by Vaesen.

We then had to wait till the seventy eighth for another chance. This time it was Daniel Sturridge after only coming on a minute earlier got his head to the ball before the advancing Vaesen, but Sam Oji was able to get back and clear the ball of the line.

City held a strong back line thanks to man of the match Micah Richards who looks in fine form and bodes well to captain the youth team later in the month to continued success.

The less said the better about our Finnish player making his debut however. He looked way out of his depth even at this level, and his positioning for a holding midfielder was atrocious. Matters were not helped when his midfield partner Marc Laird plays like a headless chicken most of the time.

City's game against Wigan next week has been re-arranged for later in the season and City will now be home to Wolverhampton Wanderers next Wednesday 18th. City's Senior Cup away game to Stockport County has also been brought forward to Tuesday 7th February.
