BWFC U18s 0 - 1 MCFC U18s

A game that in the cold conditions at Lancashire's FA ground in Leyland; you might have thought was fortunate to go ahead; but go ahead it did and City at least have kept their five point gap at the top of Group C above Everton thanks to an early second half strike from David Ball.
The first half saw both sides create good chances, but City tested the Bolton goalkeeper more as they kicked up the slope in the first half.
City took the lead when Robbie Mak was fouled inside the Bolton half on the right; Kieran Trippier sent in a pacey out swinging dead ball that Ball ran onto at the far post and put under the despairing dive of the goalkeeper.
Bolton very nearly equalized with just over ten minutes remaining when a ball over from the left was meet over on the right, but the effort fortunately for City struck the inside of the post and rebounded straight into the arms of Gregory Hartley. The academy now takes a break for Christmas as they prepare for the new year season and the away fourth round FA youth cup tie at Reading.
