Everton U18's 2 Manchester City 0

The Jekyll and Hyde of City continues to rear its ugly head this season as we go from winning comfortably six nil last week to a poor performance and losing two nil with out really testing the Everton goalkeeper.

The first goal came in the thirteenth minute that clipped of the boot of Reece Wabara and behind for a corner and the resulted dead ball was whipped in and headed in at the near post freely as Loris Karius and the defenders were no where to be seen.

The second goal came just eight minutes later when a lose ball about thirty yards out and a speculative shot was fired in that took a deflection of Tom Smith and skimmed in of the post to give Karius no chance.

City huffed and puffed but never really got around the Everton defence and put their goalkeeper under pressure. I must say that despite being an all new singing and dancing facility that Everton have at their new Finch Farm training ground; the quality of their pitches leaves a little to be desired as it has a fair amount of movement underfoot as players struggle to take off at pace on it and it also has a real inconsistency in the way the ball bounces of it and so although not an excuse City were not able to respond to that condition unlike their opponents who clearly were more used to it.

City: Karius(GK), Morrissey, Zander, Wabara, Smith, Mitchell(Olle 70), Elabdellaoui, Benali(Capt.), Guidetti, Bunn, Helan.

Subs: E Johansen(GK), K Skogsrud, Kapsalopodas.

The U16's also suffered their first defeat of the season going down 0-3
