Huddersfield Humbled

MCFC U18s 5 - 0 HTFC U18s

In City's second game of the end of season out of group games they faced Huddersfield Town who are a mid table group D team; but City humbled them despite a few first choice players being absent. Goals from Abdi Ibrahim, James Poole, a brace from Alex Nimley Tchuimeni and of course the obligatory poacher's goal from the hit man himself, David Ball.

City's first goal came in the thirteenth minute when a Poole corner was only half cleared and fell out to Ibrahim who took a neat touch before burying the ball past the keeper from the edge of the area using the outside of his boot.

Four minutes later and City had doubled their lead when Vladimir Weiss made one of his trademark runs towards goal skipping past many players before finally releasing the ball to Ball who slipped a neat pass to Poole who fired in of the crossbar and in the goal.

City wrapped the game up five minutes before the break when Weiss held the ball before releasing it to Chris Ramsey who made a surging run and his effort was deflected into the path of Ball who fired in from close range as he instinctively does with great regularity.

City's fourth came from the young Liberian; Nimley-Tchuimeni when substitute Adrian Cieslewicz played Alex in and he rounded the keeper and slotted the ball into the net to make it a comfortable end to the game.

Poole was again part of the build up for the fifth goal and Alex's second when he again released him and his shot cannoned of both posts, but he had the pressence of mind to follow up and poke the ball over the line.

With City playing their first leg of the youth cup final this week and days running out and City already securing top spot in the group I wonder whether they will arrange the postponed game with Liverpool as it has no significance to either club.

City: Hartley(GK), Ramsey, Chantler, Boyata, Mee(Capt.)(Brown 66), Tutte, Weiss(Cieslewicz 66), Ibrahim, Ball(Morris 70), Nimley-Tchuimeni, Poole.
