Manchester United Stuffed by City - Update
MUFC U18s 0 - 5 MCFC U18s
A five star performance by City this morning really showed up the gulf in class of the two academies today with a dominating display by the better half of Manchester. Both teams and supporters held a
respectful minute silence in honour of the fatally injured on the Munich Runway some fifty years ago. The game interestingly was the first time since 1999 that City had played United's academy at the
Cliff Training ground. Goals from Donal Mcdermott, Boyata, a David Ball penalty and a brace from Robbie Mak was enough to lift the blues nine points clear of their closest rivals Everton and further
enhance their goal difference. City's next game is now away to Bristol City in the FA Youth Cup 5th Round on Wednesday 13th February.
City: Hartley(GK), Trippier, Boyata, McGivern, Kay, Tutte, Tsiaklis(Ibrahim), Weiss, Ball(Nimley), Mak, McDermott(Poole).
Subs: Robinson.
The U16s played United at Carrington this morning and both teams ground out a 0-0 draw.
