Manchester City  1 v 1  Manchester United

Guidetti 19min(Pen)

Just a quick report as most of you will have watched this on the live stream on www.mcfc.co.uk.

City were looking to maintain their unbeaten home record (and not 100% as the OS said) whilst United were on a run of six unbeaten games., so if you were a betting person a draw would have been odds on and thats what happened in the ninety minutes of action in the freezing conditions at Hyde.

It was a tale of two penalties. The first came the way of United when the pace of Cameron Stewart was too much for Freddie Veseli and the referee awarded a spot kick after the Swiss international made a rash challenge in thebox. David Gonzalez guessed the right way and kept out the first attempt but had no chance as Keane fired home the rebound.

Despite City enjoying long spells of possesion there was no real final ball however they were awarded a lifeline on tweny one minutes when Oliver Gill upended Alex Nimely and John Guidetti converted the subsequent penalty.

A further chance went begging on twenty seven minutes, Nimely was down the left, Chris Chantler overlapped, Nimely fed the ball into Guidetti who in turn found the advancing Chantler in acres of space, but the young full backs shot struck the bottom of the post and went away to safety.

The remainder of the game was a total none entity or that might have been our judgement as the cold settled in, but certainly in the second half we made very few notes and apart from  a driving run from Andrew Tutte which forced a fine save from Johnstone in the United goal nothing else happened apart from a series of substitutions and a rash of bookings for United,

On a footnote the system of allocating loyalty points was in place tonight and all seemed to go well with several personnel armed with scanners and for those whose cards did not function the good old fashioned notebook was out.All we have to do now is see if we actually get allocated the points
