Fulfilling the joint cooperation compact between Al-Jazira Sports and Cultural Club, and the English Football Club Manchester City, the earlier has hosted the U-17 football team from Manchester City in a friendly football match that ended up with 2-2 draw.
Mr. Phil Anderton, Al-Jazira Chief Executive Officer, received Mr. Brian Marwood, Chief Football Operations Director in Manchester city along with the U-17 football team at Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi where the match was held. The two parties exchanged memorial shields and photographs.
The two Al-Jazira players Sultan Al-Suweidi and Abdullah Fouad, who joined the Manchester City FC in England, participated in the match playing with the Man City team Attended by Hamad Al-Hur Al-Suweidi, Al-Jazira Board Member and Head of the Professionalism Committee, the match started strong by the two sides, each trying to prove his name in the friendly match.
Manchester City scored first in the match through Harry Bunn in the 20th minute, however, four minutes later, Al-Jazira player Ahmed Rabee scored the equalizer in the 24th minute.
The English player Bradley Robinson scored a second goal for Man City in the 29th minute, ending the first half of the match Man City two, Al-Jazira one.
The second half of the match witnessed many attempts by the two teams but no goals were recorded until the 84th minute when Abdul Rahman Musa scored the equalizer and then for the referee to whistle the end of the match between Al-Jazira and Man City
