(31/08/2010)-Loan deal for Mohammed Abu

Manchester City has signed 18-year-old Ghanaian Mohammed Abu, who will now go on loan to Norwegian side Stromsgodset until the end of June 2011.

A dynamic, tough-tackling midfielder, Abu recently trained at the Academy and played for the Elite Development side in three pre-season games. He was spotted by the club's recruitment network playing for Sporting Club Accra, having been developed by their Right To Dream academy

(31/08/20100-Adam Clayton joins Leeds United

Leeds today agreed a deal with Manchester City to sign England Under-20 international midfielder Adam Clayton on a permanent basis for an undisclosed fee.

It seems as though City have missed out on signing 16 year old attacking midfielder Sean Murray from Watford as he has signed a professional contract with the Hertfordshire club.

(29/08/2010)- Sean Tse Injury

Sean Tse has under gone an operation on a cruciate ligament injury for a second time.

 

Having spent most of last seson out through injury, Sean suffered another blow in the recent pre season game at Macclesfield Town

 

We at MCRAA wish Sean a speedy recovery.

(16/08/2010)-Norwegian Trialist

City have been giving a trial to a young Norwegian forward. 16 year old Ohi Anthony Omoijuanfo featured in games against Radcliffe and Newcastle before joining the Norwegian International squad to play in the Syrenka cup in Poland

 

Ohi plays for LSK Juniors(Lillestrom) and had a previous trial at Manchester United

They will use open space to the west of the training pitch to build new leisure facilities.

The new centre will include a gym and changing rooms for the young players therefore require expanding." The extension will also give the club more space for youth team training sessions. It will also provide new office and seminar space.

Manchester City have stolen a stride on other Premiership clubs who have been chasing French teenage starlet Nassim Boukhelifa.

 

The 19 year old fired Lens to the French youth league title but turned an offer of a senior contract wanting to test himself in English football

 

Nassim turned out for City's reserves in their recently pre season friendly at Southport

(09/08/2010)-Tutte for Rochdale

Rochdale's official site has reported this about the Tutte loan deal:

 

"Subject to confirmation, Rochdale boss Keith Hill looks set to bolster his squad with the loan capture of 19-year-old midfielder Andy Tutte.

Tutte, has signed a youth loan deal with Rochdale that will keep him at Spotland until 6th January though there is a re-call clause in the deal.

The Man City man looks set to travel with the rest of the squad to Barnsley for the first round clash of the Carling Cup on Tuesday night."

 

Rochdale will be a good local club for Andrew to gain professional match experience, we at MCRAA hope that he enjoys his time there and takes full advantage to learn what it takes to play regular first team football for a professional league club.

Former Academy and reserve defender Ben Morris has joined Hyde, on leaving City Ben joined up with FC United of Manchester, but has now become the second ex City player to be in the Hyde side alongside Danny Pollitt

(08/08/10)-City Lose on Penalties

After drawing nil nil yesterday against Team Black City finished fourth in their group and so played in a 7/8th place play off today that they again drew nil nil with Zenit St Petersburg which then went to penalties which City lost 5-3. Omar Elabdellaoui was the City player to miss his spot kick; (Benali, Olle and George Evans converted)and so City finished in eighth place overall.

City's nineteen year old right back Kieran Trippier has gone on a six month loan to championship side Barnsley to gain valuable professional match experience.

(07/08/10)-City Beat AC Milan

In the first of two games today, City beat AC Milan 2-0 with goals from Omar Elabdellaoui(7 mins) and Emerick Hippias (22 minutes). City later played Team Black in the day and drew 0-0 meaning they finished 4th in their group and a 7th/8th place play off against Zenit St Petersburg.

Adam Clayton has joined newly promoted Championship side Leeds United on loan.

The 21-year-old City midfielder, who had a 36 game loan spell with Carlisle United last season, has moved to Elland Road on a one month loan deal.

(06/08/10)-City Lose Opening Games

Despite taking the lead through Frenchman Jeremy Helan on 11 minutes, City's U19 side suffered a 2-1 defeat in their opening game of the Oberndorf tour against SC Freiburg.

 

In their second game hours later they also met defeat against German opposition losing 2-0 to Bayer Leverkusen

Three of City's academy players are away in Finland on England duty playing a series of three friendlies. The three players are Ellis Plummer, Louis Hutton and new signing from Swindon, Alex Henshall.
