Under 18' goalkeeper Liam Sharpe has returned to Manchester City after a successful loan spell at Norwich where he helped them win onlythere second league game of the season and progress in the FA Youth Cup with a clean sheet against QPR in a 1-0 victory

(15/12/12)-Academy Friendlies

City's academy played in a couple of friendly fixtures today against Birmingham City. An Under 16 side played at Platt Lane and drew 2-2 with goals coming from Callum Bullock getting and Gabriel Almeida.

 

The Under 18's travelled to Birmingham and recorded a morale boosting 4-0 win at the Midlands side's Waste Hills training ground. Angus Gunn kept another clean sheet in his second consecutive game since returning from injury

(14/12/12)-Burnley next in FAYC

The fourth round of the FAYC has seen City drawn at home to the conquerors of Manchester United, Burnley FC.

 

The two sides have already met this season in a friendly at Platt Lane in September(18th), which saw the vistors register a 3-1 win thanks to goals from Howieson, Jason Gilchrist(ex City),and George Porter.

 

Although City's side will be greatly different with the inclusion of the players who play at Under 21 level

 

The Clarets visit to South Manchester hopefully will not be as dramatic as their previous one  when Burnley's Development Squad, staff and driver were all uninjured after the team coach was involved in traffic collision on way back from Manchester.”

Ricardo Centurion

Napoli may have to fight off Manchester City if they are to sign Racing Club youngster Ricardo Centurion.

The 19-year-old has been linked with a move to Italy but reports suggest that City are also interested in bidding for the midfielder.

The young playmaker has been touted as one of the most exciting in South America.

Karim Rekik

Karim Rekik has signed a new long-term contract at City.

"It was a very easy decision to make, City is a great club with a great future for me," said Rekik. "I can develop as a player and a person at this club and that's why I decided to stay. “It feels like family inside at City, everybody is nice and they all speak to me so it was very easy for me to settle in. It definitely gives you a boost in confidence to be given a contract considering that we won the league last year.

"That was a great experience for me and I really hope to be a big player for City one day. “If I train against those players it's great for me, it's fantastic to play against these great players and it can only help me learn.

"I've been out for three months with a back injury but I feel 100% and I'm happy to be back and playing. I'm delighted to be staying at City."

Manchester City has emerged as the front-runners to sign wonder kid Gerard Deulofeu from Barcelona.

City have overtaken Chelsea in the race to capture the 18-year-old, who has an £8.1million buy-out clause.

Dutch whizzkid Adam Maher could be heading for the Premier League in January – as City, are ready to bid for the AZ Alkmaar teenager,

Midfield star Maher, the current Dutch young player of the year, has been scouted by City on a regular basis and reportedly Alkmaar would listen to offers of around £12million in January.

Vlad Marin has been given the all-clear to begin his career at City

City coughed up €400,000 compensation to Lazio to sign Marin over the summer, but he has been waiting for his registration to be rubberstamped by the Premier League.

Manchester City are being encouraged to bid for Libertad (Paraguay) striker Mauro Caballero.

The player's father, also named Mauro Caballero, admits his son has received one concrete proposal ahead of the January transfer window but insists nothing has been decided

Wigan Athletic have brought in Slovakian Under-21 international Filip Orsula to the DW Stadium.

The former Manchester City youngster was signed on a free transfer from Dutch Eredivisie side FC Twente.
