Aaron benefits from new football project

A football project  bringing sport, education and opportunities to young people in the Leeds area has scored its first success, when one of its players signed upto Citys academy this week.

After being fast tracked for a six week trial at the academy, Aron Tesfay has signed for City's u13 side.The youngster originally from Eritrea in Africa is the first of hopefully many to benefit from the project involving City, Leeds City college and street work soccer.

Poole Joins Bury on Loan

The 20-year-old has linked up with the promotion contenders  Bury to secure first-team experience after signing a one-year extension at City.

Academy Derby

A new date has now been arranged for the mini academy derby game.

It is now set to be played at Platt Lane on Tuesday 27th April, with a kick off time of 12

Reserve Date Changed

Next weeks reserve game scheduled for Wednesday 24th March against Bolton, has been brought forward 48 hours due to the first teams fixture v Everton.

There has also been a change of venue with the game now to be played at the Reebok stadium with kick off at 7pm

City miss out on full back

Reports from numerous sources in Belgium are indicating that Manchester United have secured the signing of Standard Liege full-back Marnick Vermijl on a three-year deal

Vermijl has been heavily scouted by English sides this season, United alone apparently watching him eleven times (with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Warren Joyce both running the rule over the full-back), but in January it seemed as if United had been beaten to the punch by local rivals City, who were reported to have agreed a deal for the 18 year-old.

Zander offered pro contract

German international and academy prospect Nils Zander has been offered a pro contract now he has turned 17. This is nothing out of the ordinary and is standard in the contracts of most over seas academy players.

This season has been a difficult one for Nils and he has only made a handful of appearances and has recently been filling in at left back for the U16 side

Redshaw goes on trial

It looks like Jacks contract will not be extended with the club and he was recently spotted playing and scoring for Bury in a friendly at Fleetwood Town

Vidal returns to City

After  just one game on loan at Derby County, Javan has returned to City, his loan period was suppose to be until the end of the season, but the young right back has been unable to break into Derby's first side on a regular basis, so he has been recalled by City.
