James Poole has returned from his loan spell at Hartlepool United citing a lack of first team opportunities from manager Mick Wadsworth as the decision that James has been sent back to City.
Interestingly though Hartlepool have also sent loanee goalkeeper Lee Nicholls back to Wigan as well so perhaps there is more to this decision than Hartlepool are stating?

Manchester City are ready to beat major rivals Chelsea for Feyenoord’s highly-rated defender Nathan Ake.
The usual compensation figure for a promising 15-year-old such as Ake would struggle to hit the £500,000 mark – but City have been in Rotterdam negotiating a fee that could hit a massive £2.5million including add-ons.
He is a 15 year old (18-02-1995) centre-back but he can also play in central/defensive midfield. He is the captain of Feyenoord and Holland U17's and a tremendous young footballer.
With yesterday being deadline day for emergency loans in the football league City saw the second of their young players; Andrew Tutte join Graham Turner's Shrewsbury on loan for a month. Andrew recently returned from a loan spell at Rochdale at the end of last month.
Graham Turner spoke of the recent signing:
"He had a successful loan with Rochdale so will know a little of what to expect and he wants to get more football under his belt.
"He is a player that we know about and have kept an eye on, he's been watched a few times and recommended as a player who could do well.
"It's coming to a busy part of the season where injuries and form will play a part so to have some as exciting as Andrew in the squad will give us all a boost."
BURNLEY have completed the signing of young Manchester City striker John Guidetti on loan until January 3.
The Swedish Under 21 international has been on the Clarets radar since scoring a hat-trick for City's reserves at Turf Moor last March, against a largely senior Burnley line-up.
And manager Brian Laws swooped to sign the 18-year-old prospect ahead of today's 5pm deadline.
"We noticed him against our reserves when we had a very strong side out," said Laws.
"He did very well and scored a hat-trick against us and ran our centre-halves all over the place.
"Since then we've been keeping very close tabs on him.
"He's only a young boy but he's got a man's body and a mental strength.
"We wanted to get him on loan to get a good close look at him and see if he could bring something else to us."
Arsenal and Manchester City have joined the race to sign Zezinho, the Sporting Lisbon teenager dubbed the "new Cristiano Ronaldo".
AC Milan and Inter have been tracking the 18-year-old for some time but now look set to face stiff competition from the Premier League duo for his signature.
Zezinho, who is from Guinea-Bissau, was granted a Portuguese passport in March 2008 so would be able to play across Europe without requiring a work permit.
The tricky winger is currently playing for Sporting's youth team but has a professional contract with the club which runs out in 2012.
And according to sources in Portugal, Sporting are desperate to hang on to him, and will not sell for less than £17m..
Paris Saint-Germain striker Jean-Christophe Bahebeck has attracted interest from Manchester City,

Insua is regarded as one of the best young players in Spain and has City and Real Madrid among major clubs following his progress.

Manchester City have been trialling Danish teenager Viktor Fischer.
The 16-year-old striker has just returned to native outfit FC Midtjylland after training with the Premier League club.
FCM sports director Jens Oergaard confirmed Fischer has been on trial with the Blues, but says they are yet to offer the fledgling star a deal.
Oergaard told Danish tabloid BT: "It's correct that Viktor has been in Manchester for a trial with City, but we have not received an offer.
City's official site have just posted the home Manchester Senior Cup tie against Stockport County to be played on the 11th January 2011 with a 7pm kick off. Whether the kick off time is accurate because historically the games between these two sides have been played in the afternoon behind closed doors. We wait till nearer the time to get confirmation.
It appears as though Shaleum Logan has managed to organise another trial for himself. This time for Championship side Watford. Apparently he helped the Hertfordshire side beat their close neighbours Luton Town 2-1 in a reserve match which Shaleum played the full ninety minutes of. Lets hope the young Wythenshawe lad is able to find a club as these latest actions show he clearly has not got a future hear at City.
City have arranged dates for two of their cup ties. The FA Youth cup fixture against Oldham Athletic will be played at Boundary Park on Monday 6th December, whilst their Lancashire Senior Cup tie at home to Liverpool will be played on Tuesday January 18th 2011.

The teenage Ghanaian midfielder, who signed for the Blues on transfer deadline day, has made an immediate impact in Norway despite being one of the youngest players in a competitive league.
Abu was on the bench on Sunday as Stromsgodset coach Ronny Deila kept faith with his cup line-up from earlier rounds to see through a 2-0 victory over Fallo FK, shock winners over champions Rosenborg in the semi-finals.
But the central midfielder with a powerful shot has figured in every league game and has made a real impression
Norway's winter break means Abu will be back at the club later this week before taking a well-earned break of his own. His loan lasts until next June, when Stromsgodset boss Deila seems certain to ask City for a repeat

Manchester City are likely to sign Ghanaian teenage sensation Frank ‘Messi’ Acheampong after the club’s Arabian owner invited him for trials.
The player himself has only just turned seventeen this October and is already playing in leagues well above his age group.
Sheikh Mansour, who owns the English side, personally invited the youngster to his base in Dubai to be observed by Al-Jazeera, the other club he owns.
Acheampong, who plays for Ghanaian side Berekum Chelsea, was handed the instant invite by Sheikh Mansour after watching videos of Messi in action for the Ghana youth side.
The hugely-talented Acheampong will spend two weeks at Al Jazeera before they decide whether to send him directly to Manchester City.
The youngster has wowed fans with his skills as well as scoring which drew comparison with the Argentine star Messi, who plays for Barcelona.
Getting an English work permit could be difficult for the Ghanaian Messi which means he could be signed and loaned out to a Belgian club.
He could also be signed by Al Jazeera and allowed to stay there until he is eligible for a work permit to play in England.
Italian side Udinese have already offered Messi the opportunity to play for them but Berekum Chelsea are said to be unhappy over the terms of the contract.
“The owner of Manchester City watched his videos and want to be sure if he’s the one gifted with the footballing skills and technique,” Berekum Chelsea president Emmanuel Kyeremeh told Ghanasoccernet.com
“For now we can’t say what will happen and which club he will be signed to play.”
Acheampong is a member of Ghana’s Under-20 team which has qualified for next year’s African Youth Championship in Libya.
