FA PREMIER ACADEMY LEAGUE
FRIDAY 30TH APRIL 2010
Stoke City v Manchester City
SCFC U18s 1 - 1 MCFC U18s
Bunn(74)
City's re-arranged academy game at Stoke today was a bit of a non event as even the more reliable players had a rather frustrating day as their usual passing game never really got going and had to come behind to a fourteen minute headed Stoke goal through Harry Bunn in the seventy fourth minute.
Stoke's goal came from a corner when the number eight was left free to head past Loris Karius in the City goal. City did create a few chances in the first half but never really showed any conviction and looked like they were not going to score.
City were moderately better in the second half as the rain continued to come down heavily. So they finally got themselves back onto level terms when captain Ahmad Benali played the ball out wide to Tom Smith who then played the ball back into the on rushing Ahmad and he got to the by-line and put the ball across the box that this time Harry Bunn put in having seen the goalkeeper make a very good save minutes before.
On an interesting note; today was the last time that Andrew Mitchell will play for Manchester City as he is off to Hong Kong with his new club Rangers. Here at MCFCRAA we wish Andrew all the best in his future professional football career where ever it may take him.
