The warning signs for the outcome of this game were there as early as the first minute, when following a blocked clearance from the City defence, the visitors number 9,,Lateef Elford Alliyu, was free on goal but only succeeded in blazing over.
Very little was seen from City in the first half, with the best chance probably falling to Spaniard Juan Roman Angel Olle but his shot on goal was blocked by an Albion defender.
West Brom took the lead on 30 minutes, a break down the right wing by Cameron Gayle saw him cross into the box, Connor Morrissey failed to clear and Alliyu did not waste this opportunity and finished from close range.
The vistors were denied a blatant penalty on 35 minutes when Tom Smith literally dived full length to stop a shot on goal.
Minutes later Albion were two up, a break down the left wing , from Kayleden Brown, saw the City defence all over the place, a cross came in and it was an easy finish for the advancing West Brom player Romaine Sawyers
The second half saw City start with more purpose and the score line was reduced on 53 minutes when a shot from Andrew Mitchell was touched home by John Guidetti
Jeremy Helan then shot wide as City sought to draw level, but it was soon an up hill struggle when Alliyu got his second of the game on 59 minutes with a free header from a corner
Further chances fell to Guidetti, and Tom Smith had a shot turned wide, but this could not disguise yet another poor display and the sixth defeat of the season for Citys academy side, something we have not been used to over the past few seasons

A young under 16 side were involved in a seven goal thriller, City, 3 nil down mid way through the second half, fought back to draw level only to be denied by a very depatable winner; with many independent observers saying the ball never crossed the line for Albion's fourth goal and winner of the game.
