Manchester City U18's 6 Wolverhampton Wanderers 1
Benali(3), Guidetti(2), Bunn
City amazingly continue to dominate the goalscoring charts in their division as they go on to score six goals for the third time this season. The amazing thing was the first twelve minutes or so the game was all Wolverhampton. City's goals came from substitute Harry Bunn, a brace from powerhouse striker John Guidetti and a fine hat-trick from Ahmad Benali.
As I said it was all Wolverhampton for the opening minutes but against the run of play in the fifteenth minute Joan Olle picked the ball up on the right and he pressed forward and then sent a defence splitting pass to Benali making a strong run to latch on to and the defender nearly got there as Ahmad’s shot cannoned of his boot to fire into the top corner of the far post in a similar position to Wright-Phillips the other day.
City's second goal came in the twenty fourth minute when the Wolves goalkeeper did not clear a back pass well and the right back got all caught up as Jeremy Helan dispossessed him and ran into the box and fired a strong shot that the goalkeeper could only spill into the path of Benali who finished well into the back of the goal.
City secured all three points with the third goal in the fortieth minute with good pressure play in and around the Wolves are with Olle, Guidetti, Benali and Elabdellaoui. The ball eventually came to Benali who danced around the defence and then cut the ball back for Guidetti to side foot in.
Wolves got a slim glimmer of hope in the sixty fifth minute when a free kick was deflected agonisingly wide for a corner and City failed to fully clear the effort and the ball came free on the right and was fired past Loris Karius in the City goal.
That glimmer was put out just over a hundred seconds later when world cup winning Swiss youth captain Frederic Veseli played the ball into the free space of Helan who set himself to cross to Benali who scored past the stranded Wolves goalkeeper to record a hard worked hat-trick.
City then scored two late goals inside a minute when Benali found Guidetti in space in the area where he sent in a looping cross for substitute Bunn to tap in at the far post. Just two minutes left in the game substitute James Paris sent in an early cross and Guidetti got in front of the defender to tap into the goal at the near post to score our thirty fifth goal in our fourteenth game and start to get some respectability back to our position in the league.
City: Karius (GK), Smith, K Skogsrud (Kapsalopodas 46), Wabara, Veseli, Mitchell, Olle (Paris 74), Benali (Capt.), Guidetti, Elabdellaoui (Bunn 83), Helan.

City’s U16s continued their good season with a comfortable two nil victory.
