Wrexham 2 Manchester City X1 1
City reserves slumped to their first defeat of the pre-season in a hard fought fixture against Blue Square North side Wrexham.
Despite taking the lead, two early second half goals sealed victory for the Welsh side.
The first chance of the game fell City's way when a Karl Moore strike from the edge of the box(following a Donal McDermott corner) was cleared off the line by Wrexham's Andy Fleming.
The referee was making a number of strange decisions and missed a blatant handball in the box by a Wrexham player but did manage to see when the home sides keeper ,Chris Maxwell, brought down James Poole for a penalty on 19 minutes which Karl Moore duly dispatched to put City one up.
Robbie Mak should have doubled his sides lead, but was a little bit too intricate with his finish and it narrowly went over the bar.
Wes Baynes with his first touch of the ball, after coming on as a second half substitute for Wrexham, levelled the scores on 46 minutes with a blistering 30 yard free kick which flew past a static Kasper Schmeichel. Kasper was then further called into action to turn a shot past his righthand post
On 56 minutes , Wrexham took the lead. Sivio Spann's corner found Mani(?) unmarked in the box and he stooped to head home from close range.
In the dying minutes of the game Wrexhams substitute keeper denied, David Ball from equalising
